IPB University (IPB) was established in 1963 as the Indonesian National Agricultural University in Bogor, Indonesia. IPB was established to enhance food security, promote bio-energy, protect the regional environment and alleviate poverty, focusing on tropical agriculture and life sciences, and has a world-renowned reputation in this field. Bogor Agricultural University ranks 1201-1500 in World University Rankings in 2023, QS World University Rankings ranks 449th (in QS World University Rankings, it is also ranked first among agricultural and forestry schools in Southeast Asia), Asian University Rankings is No. 112; the Impact Rankings for 2022 is No. 101-200. IPB is located in the suburbs of Jakarta. Since its establishment, it has had a profound impact on the development of Indonesian agriculture. Over the years, Indonesian ministers of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries have all come from the school, and it has a considerable political and academic status. At the same time, it also cooperated with the Taiwan Technical Mission in Indonesia to establish the "Bogor Agribusiness Promotion Center". This organization is committed to promoting agricultural business management guidance and modern production and marketing technology to improve farmers' income; it also allows students to familiarize themselves with actual farm management and cultivation technology operations through internships, so that theory and practice can be combined.


At the invitation of Ir. Asep Saefuddin, President of UAI, and Mohamad Ghozali Moenawar, International Director of UAI, our delegation went to Bogor Agricultural University in Indonesia for exchanges and visits. Ir. Arief Darjanto, Dean of IPB, led the team to visit the teaching building and environment of the newly established School of Vocational Studies (School of Vocational Studies) in IPB.
In 2017, with the approval of the IPB to open the Bogor Agricultural Vocational School, the Institute of Vocational Studies was established. The college is authorized to offer 17 courses I to IV such as Ecotourism, Informatics Management, Computer Engineering, Food Quality Assurance Supervisor, Seed Industry Technology, Aquaculture Production Technology and Management, Plantation Production Technology and Management and Agricultural Community Production Technology and development courses.


In the meeting, Ir. Arief Darjanto, Dean of the Vocational College of IPB University, mentioned the development achievements of the school in agriculture, veterinary medicine, fishery, animal science and forestry in recent years, as well as the goals of the Vocational College. They aspire to be a leading vocational studies school at an international level through a program of excellence in applied higher education (agriculture, marine affairs and tropical biosciences) with an entrepreneurial character. At the same time, in response to international needs, cultivate professionals with excellent knowledge and skills in the fields of agriculture, marine and tropical biosciences, and become entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial spirit, and also develop excellent applied science and technology in the fields of agriculture, marine affairs and tropical biosciences.


Dar-Hsin Chen, the host of TIUL and vice president of NTPU, also responded, "IPB is the best agricultural university. Indonesia has a population of 40 million and more than 10,000 islands in its territory. It has abundant products, fertile soil, vast sea area and rich resources. It is a country very suitable for the development of agriculture. With its unique agricultural technology and educational resources, in recent years, through the mutual exchange and development of international technology and research, Indonesia's agricultural technology and production are also increasing day by day. Therefore, through this visit, it is hoped that in the future, NTPU and TIUL will be able to promote more exchanges in agricultural technology, education and research between the two countries based on the government's southbound policy, and enhance the results of international cooperation.
